Montgomery Police Department Building

The Montgomery Police Department is pleased to announce the addition of two new police officers to its team. These additions will contribute to the department's ongoing commitment to maintaining public safety and enhancing community engagement.

Officer Johnathan Doyle and Officer Reese Peter recently graduated from the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy, joining the ranks of the Montgomery Police Department. Officers Doyle and Peter have undergone rigorous 16-weeks of training to ensure the necessary skills and expertise to effectively serve and protect the community. In addition, the men have begun field training in the Village before assuming solo patrol.

Officer Doyle grew up in Aurora and attended West Aurora High School. He graduated with a degree in criminal justice from Illinois State University. Doyle resides in North Aurora and shared, "policing is a career to be proud of and he looks forward to making a positive impact on the Montgomery community."

Officer Peter grew up in Oswego and attended Oswego High School. He spent eight years in the Marine Corps, and currently resides in Naperville with his fiancé. Peter chose policing, "to be a public servant as he loves the internal community between officers and the external community serving the Village."

The Montgomery Police Department's commitment to expanding its team demonstrates its dedication to community-oriented policing and providing effective law enforcement services. The new officers will undoubtedly contribute to the community's overall well-being and help foster a positive relationship between law enforcement and the residents they serve.

Chief Smith welcomes the new Officers at the Monday, May 13 Village Board Meeting, "We are excited to welcome Officer Doyle and Officer Peter to our team. They bring a passion for policing and a commitment to serving our community. Undoubtedly, they will be a valuable asset to our department and Montgomery."

The Montgomery Police Department extends its warmest congratulations to the individuals on their new roles. For more information about the Montgomery Police Department and our team of dedicated officers, please visit our website at montgomeryil.org.
