The Village’s leaf collection service and Republic Services/Allied Waste’s yard waste program—including leaf pick up—will conclude at the end of this month. Leaf piles that are curbside by 7:00 am Monday morning, November 26, will be collected by the public works department by Friday, November 30. Residents are reminded that open leaf piles that contain foreign debris (sticks, grass clippings, garbage, etc.) will not be collected; in addition, vehicles parked in front of leaf piles impede the collection of the leaves. Residents can also dispose of leaves through Allied Waste’s yard waste pick up service; leaves should be placed in yard waste bags, stickered and put out on the resident’s regular trash collection day. This program will end November 29, 2012. Please remember that leaf burning is prohibited by village ordinance. For more information, please contact the Public Works Department at 630/896-9241.
