The Montgomery Police Department has received already 2 calls this week advising of a popular scam. Criminals are calling Americans all across the country posing as IRS agents. The scammers claim the person answering the phone owes back taxes and they then demand immediate payment or tell the person they face arrest. THOUSANDS of Americans have already fallen victim to these scammers this year.

If you receive any mail, e-mail or phone call like this, please call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040. DO NOT GIVE THE CALLER ANY INFORMATION.
