Settler’s Cottage, Montgomery’s historical museum, will be reopening on Sunday, May 17th for the summer season. On May 17th the museum will be open from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Then from June to October, Settler’s Cottage will be open on the first and third Sundays of each month, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
Visitors are invited to learn more about Montgomery’s rich history in this restored 1840s home, located in front of the Village Hall at 200 N. River Street. Exhibits include the Civil War (did you know we had a Civil War camp in Montgomery?), early businesses, recreation in the early 1900’s, the newly discovered 1851 Gray Family Bible, the sheep yards, the early history of Montgomery, and many others. The museum is free and is handicapped accessible.
