In celebration of Arbor Day and its commitment to environmental preservation, the Village of Montgomery is pleased to announce a special tree dedication ceremony and sapling giveaway. This event will occur on Saturday, April 27, at 10:00A at the Arboretum Garden Park in front of the Police Department at 11 Civic Center Ave., Montgomery.
The focal point of this year's Arbor Day celebration will be the dedication of a Redbud Tree to the Arboretum Garden Park. The Redbud, known for its striking pink blossoms in spring, symbolizes vitality, renewal, and the enduring beauty of nature. This tree dedication underscores the Village's commitment to preserving and enhancing the natural environment of our Village for generations to come.
The ceremony will feature remarks from Village staff highlighting the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance, the importance of trees for communities, and environmental sustainability. Following the brief ceremony, the Village of Montgomery will distribute fifty mature Redbud saplings, providing residents with the opportunity to take home their own Redbud. This initiative encourages community members to actively participate in environmental stewardship by planting and nurturing trees within their yards and neighborhoods.
"We are thrilled to commemorate Arbor Day by dedicating this beautiful Redbud Tree and providing saplings to our residents," said Ben Brzoska, Trustee of the Village of Montgomery, and Chair of the Village's Beautification Committee. "Trees are essential to the health and well-being of our community, and through events like this, we hope to inspire greater awareness and appreciation for the natural world around us."
All community members are invited to attend this special event. Whether you're a seasoned environmental enthusiast or simply curious about the benefits of trees, Arbor Day in the Village of Montgomery promises to be an enlightening and enriching experience for all.
