The Montgomery Police will be collecting unused, unwanted and expired medication on September 29th, 2012 from 10:00am to 2:00 pm in the Community Room at the Montgomery Police Department.
This national effort in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration will focus on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from citizens’ medicine cabinets. The national take-back day provides an opportunity for citizens to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction. This one-day effort will bring national focus to the issue of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse.
Medications that will be collected include controlled, non-controlled and over the counter medications. Medications that are turned in will be placed directly in a collection bin. If they are in a labeled medication bottles, you do not have to remove identifying information prior to disposal unless you wish to. Medications that will NOT be accepted include Intra-venous solutions, injectibles, liquids and syringes.
