[ARCHIVED] Prescribed Burns

Pizzo and Associates will be conducting prescribed burns of the Village’s naturalized basins on Monday, November 26. The goal is to complete them in the beginning of the week, however since the burns are heavily weather dependent, the project may continue into mid-week. Pizzo burn crews have extensive practical experience working with local agencies. They are certified in the S130/S190/S290 sections of wildland fire training and are equipped with clothing and equipment that meet the National Wildfire Coordination Group (NWCG) standards. All prescribed fires are conducted with permits from the state Environmental Protection Agency divisions and the local fire department. Local fire and police departments are contacted prior to, during, and after the fire. Written notification to commercial and residential addresses adjacent to the burn sites is provided when required.

The objectives for today are as follows but may change as the day (and week) progresses:

Cornell Avenue
Fieldstone Place
Orchard Prairie North
Civic Center Basin
Balmorea East / South
Balmorea East / North
Blackberry Crossings East
Roxbury (Montgomery Crossings)
Avalon (Montgomery Crossings)
