At 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27th, a free Chair Yoga Workshop will be offered in Montgomery. This activity will take place in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Village Hall, 200 N. River Street.

Mary Jo Place, a Registered Yoga Teacher who will present the workshop, says chair yoga is great for seniors, veterans and office employees, as well as anyone with mobility issues or patients recovering from surgery. It is a gentle form of yoga that is done while seated or while leaning on a chair for support. Health benefits include increased circulation, stronger muscles, increased flexibility, and improved range of motion. Yoga can also improve balance, eliminate toxins, calm the mind and improve concentration.

This free workshop is being offered by the Village of Montgomery as part of its senior program, although adults of all ages are welcome to participate. There is no charge and the event is handicapped accessible.

For additional information on this event, please call the Montgomery Village Hall at (630) 896-8080 ext. 1559.
