Officer Jacob Niete of the Montgomery Police Department was recently promoted to Patrol Sergeant effective May 31, 2015.
On July 13, 2015 at the Village Board Meeting Officer Jacob Niete was sworn in by the Village President Matt Brolley. Friends, relatives, and neighbors packed the Village Hall for the ceremony.
Sgt. Niete received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Illinois State in 1999 where he also played football for four years on the Redbirds football team. Since being hired in 2007, Sgt. Niete has become a member of the ILEAS MFF, served as a Field Training Officer, Special Enforcement Team member, and LEAD Gang Officer for the Department.
