The Village of Montgomery has several areas for residents to fish. The Fox River is a popular spot for residents of Montgomery and neighboring towns to fish. The Village also has several retention ponds throughout the Village that allow fishing. Signs are posted designating the allowance of fishing in each individual pond. Anyone fishing must follow the guidelines set forth by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, including fishing license requirements.
