Contractor Registration

All contracted work must be by a Contractor registered to work in the Village of Montgomery.

Residents should check with the Village to be sure a Contractor is registered before signing any work contracts. Contractors should contact the division's Administrative Assistant with any questions at permits@montgomeryil.org or 331-212-9023.

Submit application materials to permits@montgomeryil.org, mail them, or drop them off at the Permit officer at Village Hall. If emailed, staff will reply when the license is prepared with a link, code to make payment online, and all other payment options. 

ALL Contractors require the following information to obtain a license to perform work in the Village of Montgomery:

1. Fill out the Contractor Registration Application (PDF)

2. All Contractors must provide a Certificate of Insurance (with Village of Montgomery as Certificate Holder) and any additional required paperwork (see below).

GENERAL CONTRACTOR: Application, COI, as noted above
Annual Fee: (Calendar year January 1 - December 31st)  $125.00

HVAC CONTRACTOR: Application, COI, as stated above
Annual Fee: (Calendar year January 1 - December 31st)  $125.00

SOLAR CONTRACTOR: Application, COI, as stated above
Annual Fee: (Calendar year January 1 - December 31st)  $125.00
and an Electrical License from another Illinois Municipality.

ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR:  Application, COI as noted above, License from another Illinois Municipality

PLUMBING CONTRACTOR:  Application, COI as noted above, State License (0,55), and a Letter of Intent specific to the address of work being performed.

ROOFING CONTRACTOR:  Application, COI as noted above, State License, and Photo I.D

FIRE SPRINKLER CONTRACTOR:
Please contact the fire districts pertinent to the location of work being performed. See also: Fire District Map and Contact Information. If you are unsure of the fire district serving an area, don't hesitate to contact the building department at permits@montgomeryil.org or by calling 331/212-9023.
