Mission: To ensure that the Village’s plans, goals, policies, land use ordinances and regulations are promoting orderly and coordinated growth and development within Montgomery.
Overview: The Planning & Zoning Commission was created to provide guidance, direction, and control of the village's growth and development or redevelopment and contiguous territory.
Commitment: Serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission is a long-term commitment with duties that include monthly meetings; make recommendations to the Board on annexation applications, special use permits, variations; make recommendations on planned unit developments; and prepare and recommend comprehensive plans to the Village Board.
The Planning and Zoning Commission meets at 6P the second Wednesday of each month at Village Hall.
Membership and Term: Committee membership shall be appointed by the Village President, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees and be comprised of at least seven (7) resident electors of Montgomery to serve an initial term of five (5) years starting May 1, 2024. The Board of Trustees has the authority to appoint additional members and/or alternate members as appropriate to facilitate the work of the Committee.
