Patrol

Patrol

The Montgomery Police Department's most visible division is patrol. The patrol division provides protection and police services to the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The Patrol officers work 8 hour shifts with a Sergeant assigned to each shift. The patrol division responsibilities include responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, enforcement of state and local laws, and traffic enforcement. The officers patrol residential areas and businesses in an effort to reduce crime and help to improve the quality of life for the community.

Special Enforcement Team

The Montgomery Police Department also has a Special Enforcement Team. The mission of the Montgomery Police Department Special Enforcement Team (SET) is to enhance the quality of life for the residents of the Village of Montgomery through proactive and community based law enforcement efforts. Working under the direction of Chief of Police, Phil Smith, the SET team will be comprised of a squad of dedicated and highly motivated officers whose primary responsibility is suppression of criminal offenses and violations that reduce the "quality of life" for our neighborhoods. To help achieve these objectives, the SET team will use a coordinated and tactical approach in order to focus on a variety of criminal activities that directly and indirectly impact the Village of Montgomery and its residents.
