Under the Consumer Confidence Rule, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requires public water suppliers that serve community water systems (the same entities year-round) to provide their customers with Consumer Confidence Reports (CCR). These annual quality reports are known as the Drinking Water Quality Reports. The CCR summarizes the sources used (i.e., rivers, lakes, reservoirs, or aquifers), any detected contaminants, compliance information, and educational details. The reports are due to customers by July 1 of each year.
